Second try, still a great place. They were busy on a random Tuesday night, so I'm hoping that is a good sign! A few things I hope they look at--the menu was just odd. Tonight's menu had about ten small plates and three "mains" and all four of us were confused. The mains looked like a lot of food but the small plates didn't look like enough. We split the turkey nachos (YUM) and the bruschetta (came with three, I didn't see the number on the menu but as we were a party of four, you'd think the server would say, I can add a fourth one if you'd like? It's always awkward to divide three small bites among four people.) One ordered the burger (small plate) with a side of fries (small plate). Fries are some of the best in St.Louis. I ordered the rock shrimp flat bread and a salad. It was a perfect entree-sized meal. The flat bread was just ok. The salad was good. Another ordered the ravioli (small plate). It was three ravioli. The server didn't say anything about the amount of food and that was a little odd to me as well, since this person had ordered it and nothing else as her main dish. Also wish they'd work on the acoustics--it gets so loud in here. Beer selection is much better now. I wish we could have seen a dessert menu--we were told them by the server but with the acoustics we couldn't hear much. Ended up with chocolate lava cake and it was amazing so no complaints! All in all, everything was so tasty and well presented that id eat here again and again (and again and again). I just wish I understood the menu better...maybe it's just me.

Drinks were excellent - Macklind Mule and Grapeseed Gin and Tonic. Pinkney Bend gin and the tonic by the same name rocks. Food was pretty good in general with some high points. Everything seemed to be very well sourced - so bonus point here. Mixed greens salad was good. Spinach salad was excellent. The butternut squash soup was bland - seemed under seasoned. Husband had the flat iron steak - this was a bit on the too sweet side. I had the roasted chicken - definitely on the too sweet side. We chose to eat at the bar. Bartender was talented with the drinks, but needs quite a bit of training on how to pace a meal and take food orders properly. On the whole - service didn't match the check price. We'll try once again. I think there may be some menu gems that we just missed.

What lunacy! I arrived at 6:10pm for a table for two and although there were very many tables empty in a restaurant that doesn't take reservations, I was told there were no tables for two available. I said, no problem, we will sit at a table for four. I was informed that "We Don't Do That". We are expecting to be busy tonight. What short sighted restaurant doesn't try to turn a table twice during dinner service? I called an hour later from the neighborhood restaurant we chose and there was indeed a 30-40 minute wait. So, had we been seated at 6:10pm, there would have been a line for the table once we left. I spent my $140 elsewhere with only a short wait for a table because all of their tables were full. Spotlights and glory come to neighborhood restaurants for a fleeting 6 months to a year. Enjoy the lunacy you are so arrogant to create. Maybe by the time business dies down, you will wish you knew how to run a busy restaurant. If you don't take reservations, you should never turn down a customer for an open table. NEVER.

Husband & I visited Grapeseed on a Saturday night. The dining area was about half-full, but the acoustics & bareness of the space made it noisier than it should have been, so much that we really had to raise our voices & repeat ourselves to to be heard by the server. Overall, service was great - hit the sweet spot of attentiveness without being overbearing - and the server very adeptly managed the kitchen policy of ZERO alterations to the menu, which caused some crucial problems for us when ordering. We were told the no-substitions-no-alterations policy is due to the chef's insistence that food is presented as he designed it (if it were a matter of stress on the kitchen, I would completely understand). In our case, this meant we could not request the Salume Beddu n'duja bruschetta minus ricotta - fine. Nor could we order the local, grassfed burger minus a slice of American cheese. Really? The integrity of the chef's vision would be compromised by not adding a slice of American cheese? In hindsight, husband realized we should have ordered the burger anyhow & scraped off the cheese. Instead we struggled to find anything on the menu not featuring dairy. We came up with fries (fantastic!!!), gulf shrimp, and salmon, the latter being entrees, and so two of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Nothing in the small plates or sandwiches categories fit the bill. For diners avoiding dairy, the menu doesn't really offer much save the priciest two dishes. And we felt that $20 for 4 shrimp and a narrow salmon steak were a little unreasonable. The draft beer menu is short but thoughtfully varied. I had a Sheriff of Nottingham, which was nice but heavy on the Campari, light on any other flavor, like the grapefruit I was looking for. Again, kudos to our server for delivering the no-alterations policy so gracefully, but until the policy changes or more dairy-free options are offered, we won't be returning.

MMMM! My husband and I came in right at opening time on a Wednesday evening. We shared tomato and basil hummus to start and it was delicious. He ordered the Cuban sandwich, I ordered the gnocchi with brussel sprouts and pecans and we split an order of fries. Everything was high quality and totally delicious. The service was excellent as well. We will be back!

Do yourself a favor and keep on walking to Russell's. Slow service and subpar food. Had the smoked trout and it tasted like hot dogs. Expressed this to the waitress... A "could I offer you something else" would have gone far.

We live about 10 blocks from Grapeseed but Friday night was our first visit. I had no idea how big it was inside and I love the layout. They also have seating outside in front and a huge patio. We ordered the turkey leg nachos and rock shrimp flat bread to share. Both were outstanding, the nachos were made with sweet potato chips and the turkey legs was excellent shredded liked pulled pork. The flat bread was perfectly cooked and the shrimp were not over done and had a wonderful smoke flavor. For the main course we had Gnocchi and a blue crab with rolled pasta shells. The Gnocchi were so delicate and the pasta shells had the perfect bite and not over done. A wonderful meal and VERY reasonably priced. We will be back often!

This place was awesome. The service was spot-on, and the food was great. We started with a great wine recommendation from our server, and then ordered a few small plates -- the turkey leg nachos were great--I so wish I'd thought of doing something like this when we still had Thanksgiving leftovers in the fridge. Everyone at my table ordered a different entree, and me and one other at the table both said 'oh my God this is good' at exactly the same time after taking the first couple bites. I had the salmon, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I was full, but definitely not too full to indulge in the Bailey's cheesecake, and I'm so glad, I really wouldn't have wanted to miss it.

Be Still My Heart. We went in expecting dinner to be okay. We were blown away. 2 of us on a saturday with no reservation ( total last minute idea) Sat at the bar ( mostly our preference) The Macklind Mule - Perfect. Man was happy with his beer selection and enjoyed a Manhattan. We're into sharing a few things, in a few courses so we can get our drink on and try lots of things. This is the first time in my life I have ever paid for Bruschetta - I'd give them all my money over and over again. Spot on flavor combo here. Arancini - Good. They are a little different than traditional but still delish. Nachos - The man ordered these. I actually don't like most of the ingredients but I tried one. THEY WERE GLORIOUS! I ate over half. ( sorry, honey!) Get these. Get your own order. Devour them. Tagliatelle with Mushrooms. Perfectly Light, Buttery, Delicious. Simple. Exactly what it should be. Fries. Yum. Yum. Yum. ( We did ask for buttermilk with our fries cause we are those kind of fatties. an "extra ailoi" cost os $2. For real? $2. I'm not a cheapskate but that is a little much) Special Flat Bread - the crust itself is phenomenal. The ribeye was melt in your mouth. It was BBQ-ish sauce based which wasn't written on the special board. We actually don't like that flavor but it was still pretty good. That lack of detail was our only issue the whole night and totally okay. The bartender was on his game, for sure. I drink a ton of water and it was never empty. We both drink a lot and our cocktails were quickly replenished. Friendly, knew the menu well. Spaced our courses awesomely. We got 6 plates and a TON of drinks - 110 pre-tip. Totally not bad, worth every penny. I'm currently planning our next trip.

I almost hesitate to tell you how truly unbelievable the food is...I don't want to wait in line next time because of new found popularity! From the carefully crafted cocktails and hand-picked craft beer selection to the expertly prepared food, you have to find your way here and give this place a try!! French fries with house made ketchup...perfect blend of tender fluffy inside with a crisp, well seasoned exterior...and the sweet chili ketchup, the perfect accompaniment...we asked for 2 more! So what's perfect with fries?....the burger...and not just any old burger either! Grass fed beef, light, perfect seasoning...are you seeing a pattern here?! These folks know their way around food and how to make it better. I cannot wait to come back and try something new...then again, maybe I'll just have a burger and fries!!

Best fries in town!! Also the ketchup they make is something special!! The peach and prosciutto flatbread was a wonderful explosion of flavor! The trout cake was tasty! The gnocchi was so so .. If your looking for gnocchi head to Mangia on grand. Excited to try more of the menu items! Also the coconut mojito was really really good! Excellent service as well :)

Nice space, pretty good food. A bit salty but otherwise great flavor. The wine selection could be a bit better. Crowded on the weekend. About 40-50min.wait.

I really wanted to give Grapeseed 4 stars. However, I had to deduct one star for a big service problem. I'll explain after the food review. But first, the atmosphere was not bad. Not exceptional, but good. They have done a nice job with the space they have. We wound up sitting at the counter along the front window, so we got to sit side-by-side and watch the street activity as we ate. Only problem was that it was really cold outside and we were fairly close to the front door. This was Valentine's night, so the food wasn't typical. It was a 3 course prix fixe meal, consisting of: Wild mushrooms w/parmesan cheese in a puff pastry tower. Nice flavor, and a very generous amount of mushrooms. However, it was pretty much all mushroom flavor once you got through the parmesan on top. Puff pastry tower was also nice and buttery, like a croissant - but was difficult to cut through on the bottom. 5 oz. grass fed tenderloin filet with Maine lobster, sauce Americaine, & whipped Yukon gold potatoes. Excellent filet. Quite tender, slight char on the outside, a little pink in the middle, slightly smokey & buttery flavor throughout the meat. Good job on that. Maine lobster was good for what it was, but there wasn't nearly enough for my greedy self (especially considering that this prix fixe meal was $65 each). The sauce was very good and whipped potatoes were typical. But the sauce and potatoes did add a nice savory element to the dish that rounded it out. Flourless chocolate ecstasy cake. Beautiful presentation, about the size of a half baseball, covered in chocolate shell with white chocolate drizzle, surrounded by fluted cream and a rainbow-colored glaze surrounding that. Plus a tasty little mint leaf for the finish. Taste was as good as the presentation, if you like just a rich chocolate dessert. We went nonalcoholic for the drinks, and ordered San Pellegrino. It came in small plastic bottles (about 10 oz), which our waiter did pour into our goblets (with lime). I didn't realize it until the bill came, but 3 bottles (I had 2) came to I think $11.25. $3.75 for a very small bottle of sparkling water is not cool. The waiter also did a reasonable-but-not-great job filling my still water glass (I drink a lot), and a good job clearing empty plates and bottles. So the reason I gave 3 stars instead of what probably would have been a low 4 stars? Well it was Valentine's, and when we arrived they did not have our reservation! Now I had called back in the 3rd week of January and made my reservation. It was about 2 in the afternoon, and the gentleman I talked to sounded like the owner's voice (who I talked to on Valentine's). I remember that they had not yet decided if there would be a prix fixe menu. My guess is that it was before they were recording all the reservations, and since I called during the afternoon I didn't talk to the person who normally writes it down. The note or whatever probably didn't make it to the reservation book. So on Valentine's, the hostess says I am not in the reservations book, but she does say they have open non-reservation seating along the bar and the window counters. All the normal tables were set up for reservations. I said that this was a big problem and explained how I had called in January, but I also understood that there wasn't anything she could do. I did say that I would like to talk to the manager or owner, however. She went a got him, and I could see her apparently explaining the situation. I also explained to him what had happened and how I had called in January, and how he sounded like the person I had talked to. He was very nice, and went and talked to the hostess again, but came back saying the same as she did - that they had no open tables and we could sit at the bar or counters. (I was hoping that there was something like a secret or special table held back.) He did say that there was full service and menu at all spots, and he would make sure that everything was great for us. Now fortunately we are an old married couple, so I wasn't embarrassed in front of my date. And thankfully there were these open counter spots. I guess we could have wound up at Denny's otherwise. Who else is going to have open tables? Had we been a young, unmarried couple, this could have ruined the entire night! So we made the best of it, and decided to enjoy sitting side by side and watching the street go by. But the owner only came by once early on to make sure everything was okay, and caught us as we were leaving to thank us for being understanding. I understand that there really was nothing that could be done about the seating. And I could have been lying to them. But I gave thorough details that I think showed I wasn't. Losing a reservation for Valentine's is not acceptable. And I didn't want a free meal - but I think maybe a single complimentary drink would not have been unwarranted. So I do plan to try the normal menu, and may revise my rating.

This is one of my new favorite restaurants in St. Louis. Locally sourced meat through Mac's Local Buys (the guy we buy meat from, too!). Amazing platings. Delicious food. When they first opened up, I think we went three or four times within a month span....they had turkey leg nachos on the menu which were both my husband's and my favorite. We'd like turkey leg nachos for appetizer, turkey leg nachos for salad, and turkey leg nachos for dinner.....and maybe turkey leg nachos for dessert! (We're talking four different orders here!) They are THAT good. Granted, I don't know if they are on the menu anymore, but yeah, look out for those. Everything else we've had has been outstanding, too. We've taken our friends and family here. This place is a gem in the SoHa neighborhood. So impressed!

My wife and I are thrilled that Ben Anderson joined our neighborhood and is offering high quality American cuisine at affordable prices. The only bad part about Grapeseed opening is that I have probably spent too much time and money there! I am definitely a regular and know many of the staff by first name. Sam and Todd have done a particularly good job keeping guests happy and full! My wife and I were actually the first customers to walk through the door on their soft opening, and we have eaten here probably 10 times since then. We are lucky to have such a high quality restaurant within 200 feet of our front door! The food is very well sourced, mostly local products and ingredients, and the kitchen staff does a great job adding a unique flair to classic American dishes. They also have a ton of gluten free options. I highly recommend the following items, although the menu changes frequently based on the season and on the availability of organic products and artisanal options. Fries with Aioli Fried Rice Balls Butternut Squash Soup Butcher's Meat & Cheese Board Turkey Leg Nachos Gnocchi with Brussels Sprouts and Pecans Texas Shrimp & Cheddar Grits Any drink from the cocktail list (especially the bourbon drinks) The space was renovated with care and they repurposed a lot of the wood from the original building when making the bar, tables, and banquette seating. The walls are adorned with art from local artists and the draft beer selection is all local craft breweries. They have two patio areas, one out front and one in the rear, and the back patio is well manicured and has a small gardening area for growing herbs and spices. Grapeseed earns an A+.

I had a wonderful Sunday dinner with my Mom. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. The flourless chocolate cake gave me sweet dreams. We only ask that perhaps something be done concerning the aucostics as a conversation was quite challenging to hold in the half-full restaurant.

I was slightly skeptical about coming here because I'm not super into small plates...I like to eat a lot and I don't like to share :) However, our visit started off well when we were able to get a table for 8 out on the patio on a really nice day (probably because we got there at 5:45 on a Saturday), and we enjoyed the turkey leg nachos. I had a salad which was delicious and the small plate ravioli (I'm not really sure why I ordered a small plate because I knew it wouldn't be enough, but it was still great anyway), and then had the bread pudding for dessert. Overall it was a great meal!

This was my first time here. I have never experienced a finer dining experience than I did tonight. Jeff the bartender makes a great Brown Derby and a green gimlet. The food was all fresh and delicious. I had the salmon burger with bacon and ginger slaw. Wow wow wow it was so good. I will defiantly be going back to explore the menu even more.

First of all, based on the food, this is definitely a 5 star place. The gnocchi and brussels sprout dish is made of what I imagine heaven tastes like. Seriously. I would eat a tub full of this stuff. I've also had the pumpkin ravioli, the bruschetta, the brie/turkey panini, and the pork loin panini. Everything was phenomenal. The fact that the chef doesn't do substitutions or anything was never mentioned to my group on either night I visited, but if it were, I'd respect that. I'm a picky eater, but I can appreciate someone who takes pride in what they do and doesn't want to see it compromised. If it's a dietary restriction because of an intolerance, I suppose that's a different matter and maybe I'd care more if that were my situation. Alas, I'm not bothered. My basis to take away a star would be two reasons. One minor one is that the restaurant is very noisy and once you have most of the tables filled, it's difficult to hear or talk. It doesn't totally bother me since I would just expect a noisy experience when I go back (and I will!) and not head over with a huge group of people. Problem solved. The other reason is pretty major to me. This restaurant offers highchairs, but does not have a kids menu, nor a changing table in the bathroom. I have an almost 2 year old and my husband and I like to go out to eat. I'm TOTALLY ok when restaurants don't want to cater to children. I just don't go there with my son. Simple enough. I'm not offended. What bothers me is when they pretend that they cater to children by offering the high chair, but then don't meet any other need when you dine with kids. I had to change my son on the floor of the bathroom (ew!) and share my amazing gnocchi with him! That stuff should be all mine! I'm not mad, Grapeseed. I'm confused. Regardless of my semi-rant, I will DEFINITELY be back to Grapeseed. The food is just too good!! Also, Todd, the sangria king (more like God) is amazing. This will just be a date night for my husband and I so we can enjoy the brussels sprouts in peace.

I've been there several times and have to say this is quickly becoming my new favorite spot. I love sitting on the front patio to people watch in a neighborhood that's quickly becoming a dinner destination. But, the back patio next to the garden and the dining room with its rustic, industrial design are great too! I love their salads, trout cake, and the flank steak.

Wife and friends came here for dinner recently and it definitely exceeded our expectations! Started in the bar with a few classic cocktails. The bar is very open and spacious. The only set back is that as far as spirit, beer and wine are considered the inventory seems like it's lacking just a bit and it did take a little longer to receive our cocktails than expected. (Tip: order wine. It's priced competitively too.) Once we were sat we ordered about every starter on the some what small menu but glad we did. Each and every dish was great! Recommendations: turkey leg nachos, charcuterie Dinner was a hit too with flank steak and pork chops. I could have ordered a second of that pork chop it was so tasty. Bread pudding for the win on dessert. Definitely on my list of places to return. I really enjoyed it.

We have visited here quite a few times. Always delicious. Service has always been top notch. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The only main negative we have experienced is noise inside. We sit outside when possible because of this or go earlier so it's less busy. We have had meatloaf dish, salmon dish and pork chop dish and all have been very tasty. However our go to is the burger and fries. Burger is the best in the area. Fries are delicious and have a house made ketchup. They used to have a aioli but have unfortunately stopped serving that with the fries.

Impossible. Just impossible! How does a restaurant open only two short weeks ago and manage to serve up 5-star service and food? Grapeseed wildly exceeded my expectations and gets a much deserved welcome to the neighborhood from me. We started with a drink at the bar with a very-friendly bartender. I had the Macklind Mule, which was refreshing with vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and grapefruit bitters, served in a copper mug. Very good! We moved to the dining room and decided to split a bottle of wine and a few small plates: The roasted butternut squash salad - with arugula, pumpkin seeds, queso fresco and buttermilk dressing, this salad hit everything that I've learned (by obsessively watching The Food Network) is supposed to be happening in a dish. It had the sweetness of squash, with the savory and salty pairing of the dressing and cheese, topped with texture in the pumpkin seeds. The spaghetti bolognaise with gremolata was so extremely flavorful, with perfectly cooked pasta. You wouldn't think a little gremolata would add that much to a dish, but it was a nice added zesty bite. Finally, the gnocchi! Can we just all agree that everything is better with butter? Ok, well this dish was the star of the show with gnocchi, brown butter, brussel sprouts, pecans and topped with parmesan shavings. So decadent and fantastic! I almost fell out of my chair when we split the bill in two and all of this, drinks and food, was only $33/each. Amazing value for what we received here. You better check this place out quick because, once it catches on, I don't think you'll be able to get near it.

I had seen this place while driving down Macklind Avenue and read that this place had just opened up a month or so ago. Soo.... Saturday night dinner date with my wife! We walked in at about 6:30pm and the place was starting to get pretty full. Here's the conversation we had with the hostess. Hostess: Hi, welcome to Grapeseed, do you have a reservation? Me: We do not. Hostess: There's a 20 minute wait right now, would that be okay? Me: Yes that's fine. (I saw some long tables lined against the window) Me: Are those reserved too or could we just sit there? Hostess: Oh yeah, you can sit there if you like, they are not reserved. We ended up not waiting and sitting at the tables that lined the windows. I didn't mind it at all, it was just like a bar but instead of looking at vast amounts of alcohol you were looking at the street. (I do enjoy me some people watching :P) Oh and there is this table situated right in the center of the room when you walk in. It's kind of awkward, and I feel like it's not a great use of space. Here is what we ordered. Local grass fed burger (4/5) - This is a good burger I must say. The bun, the meant, the cheese, everything worked so well together. (does not come with a side) Texas gulf shrimp (4/5) - Very good. The sauce made from sweet potatoes, corn relish, and bacon was great. The shrimp was huge and cooked perfectly. Housemade Sangria (2/5) - Not good =/. My wife and I have had better sangrias. This one was a little off for me. Probably would come back again sometime, but I don't see us being regulars. Definitely some good eats though.

Grapeseed was fantastic. I cannot wait to return. I wish I would give a 4 and half stars. The food is an experience. The cocktails were imaginative and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. This is my favorite new restaurant of the year by far. My cousin and I went to dinner there for a girls' night a few weeks ago. She mentioned how perfect it was for a gals night out and I could not agree more. Beautiful, rustic, referb wood and twinkle lights everywhere brought such a warm, chic, and laid back vibe. Our waiter was adorable and I am so mad at myself that I can not remember his name. Young. Blond. When we were chatting he mentioned he was going to Molly's after he got off work. If you are the owner and have a waiter who meets that description--he was amazing, So attentive and fun. Give him a high five. We each started with the apple sangria. It was SO good. It should be noted that the sangria is seasonal--which means I HAVE to go every season to try what Todd is going to do next. If you are a sangria person, the Todd's "Famous" sangria alone is worth the trip to Grapeseed. We both switched to Schlafly Oktoberfest after that for the beginning of our meal. We started with the house smoked trout cake. O.M.G. Delicious. What looses the one star is the small portion. Not to sound like a crab, but it was 7 bucks and tiny, so tiny. We also had the most amazingly interesting bruschetta. It was so unique. I can still taste it when I think about it. It had apples, honey, and a spicy cheese. You may not think these things go together, but somehow they do in the best way. My entree was the pork loin panini. It was kind of a disappointment because the food that came before was a knock out. This, I think was really just me. I am not a huge pork person and it was really just poor ordering on my part. I brought it home for my husband and he devoured it. Oh and the fries. Top 10. These can compete with Layla's fries. I did not think that was possible. Overall--GO. Go now. Order the sangria. Go on a date. Bring your best girlfriend. It's wonderful.

Grapeseed Stl is a new addition to the Macklind Ave business corridor in the South Hampton neighborhood. They offer New American and Italian/Mediterranean made-from-scratch cuisine. Most menu items are under $23. Many are under $10. They have several vegetarian items, as well as, grass fed beef and wild caught Texas shrimp & grits (nice portion and BIG shrimp). The shrimp dish is $23, but well worth the price for the portion, freshness and size of the shrimp. They have done a fab job of renovating the tired old building. It's still a little baron with lots of empty space and the lighting fixtures are nice and modern, but a little bright for my liking. A little color on the walls would go a long way too, but they're new and overall, it looks good. They have outdoor seating on a great front corner patio. This mostly residential neighborhood is building a nice collection of eateries (Russel's on Macklind, The Mack, Macklind Ave Deli, Onesto's Corner Bistro, etc) !

First of all I will stalk Todd for sangria! And I have. Tonight's blend was sweet potato/carrot. Yummy! The food was great and reasonably priced. Sweet potato chips, shrimp flatbread was awesome. Friend had the eggplant panini, yum. Also the pork panini, very tasty. Looked like they had a decent drink menu, like I said before I come for the sangria. It is new so expect the service staff and kitchen to work the kinks out. Everyone was extremely friendly. Will be back hopefully Saturday for some pumpkin sangria.

Ok so I am sure the food is amazing but we didn't even get to that part of the meal. I have an allergy to sugar and dairy and I asked what they could make and the waiter came back and said the chef pretty much cannot accommodate me except with steak and potatoes. I said really he can't just make a piece of fish with veggies in olive oil and the waiter kept saying no but i can ask again. The chef finally agreed and up-charged the meal by 4$ I mean come on. They were not willing to work with us at all!! In all my experiences at restaurants I have never had a chef not willing to try to make something work and give me a nice experience even if my options were limited. I wouldn't say our waiter was rude but the whole situation was handled very poorly and we said well are you saying we should leave and they really didn't seem to care that we got up and left. I feel with how many people have food allergies this shouldn't be so hard at a farm to table restaurant. I understand how the chef may have ideas and uses his creativity to make a meal which trust me I wish I could just sit down and eat a meal he made but I can't. I wasn't in anyway trying to insult him but it felt like that was what happened and instead of making us feel at home at his restaurant we felt like we were totally not wanted. I Would never let a customer walk out of my restaurant if I were a chef I would look at it as an opportunity to show I can cater to all people.

This place is amazing! They don't take reservations however they are on the no wait app! I decided to take my parents there for dinner and let them experience something new! My parents were floored and even compared it to some of the amazing restaurants we had in Portland Oregon! We had a few apps, a few entrees and dessert! We started with the gnocchi, which has brussels sprouts in it; two of my favorite things, combined in to one. Then we had the amazing pulled turkey leg nachos which come on sweet potato chips that are large enough to hold all the toppings on each chip so you get the best of everything in each bite. Next was the entrees and I had the shrimp and cheese grits! We are originally from the South so grits are our specialty and these cheese grits were a pretty close second to my grandmothers (shhh I wouldn't want her to turn over in her grave). The shrimp were seasoned well and you got 4 of the jumbo shrimp with the meal! Probably one of the best shrimp and grits I have had in awhile! My mom had the burger that came with lots of pickles just as my mom loves and was topped with a homemade coleslaw that melts in your mouth! To top it off we ended with the chocolate lava cake! It came out smoking hot with a side of ice cream and raspberries. Every bite was heavenly! I couldn't use the words delicious, fantastic and amazing more tonight! I can't wait to go back, I will be craving these items off this menu for a long time, just until my next fix! I can't wait to go back!

This place is amazing! We've been twice and both times the food was very good. They have an interesting menu that has some nice twists. The place is very cute, nicely decorated. Plus they have outdoor patios in the front and back. The waitress we had on our first trip, Phoebe, was delightful. She was attentive and informative. She recommended the mushroom ravioli but warned me that they were more of a small plate and were not a huge meal. That said, it was delicious and just the right amount. The fries, oh the fries. Hot and homemade with giant flecks of salt and served with a sweet chili ketchup! Also there was a smoky aioli with the fries, which was good. But the ketchup was so great I barely touched the aioli. On trip #2 our service was just okay, but the food was still great! The smoked trout cake was very flavorful! This place is definitely worth a try!
